Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Kwasi Obiri Danso on Tuesday, 9th April, 2019 commissioned the Office of the SRC Speaker of Parliament and the Refurbished SRC Conference room.
The short ceremony was led by the CABESA President, Hon. Felix Apankus. Invited guests were Dean of Students, Prof. Wilson Agyare, Chaplain Rev. Dr. Joseph Williams Acheampong and SRC President, Master Kelvin Uriel Sah.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Master Derrick Nii Dodoo Amo delivered the purpose of gathering and a few minutes later the office was Commissioned by the Vice Chancellor.
The Office of the Speaker of Parliament which will be operated by the Leadership of Parliament, is a step in the right direction by the incumbent Speaker, Rt.Hon. Benjamin Kissi Sasu according to Vice Chancellor Prof. Obiri Danso. The Office is furbished with the Constitutions of all Student Associations, Documents of the SRC Parliamentary Council and KNUST respectively and all reports of appointees. It also has pictures of past Speakers from 2010 to date. The office is stocked with ultra modern furniture.
The Speaker’s office will also serve as a place for documentation and record keeping.
The Office can be located on the first floor of Block B in SRC Hostel, adjacent the Conference room.
Prof. Obiri Danso and the Dean of Students were very much impressed about the office and they congratulated the leadership for a great job done.
