Kwame Nkumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has won 11 awards out of the 20 awards up for grabs at the just ended ELSJ championship, an institutional debate championship between Ghanaian Schools.
The competition was held at the University of Ghana campus on the 19 and 20th of April, 2019. Represented were 24 teams from the University of Ghana (UG), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with Adjudicators from the University of Legos.
After various rounds of fierce debate, it was the KNUST team that had the upper hand with the remaining awards going to the remaining universities.
Michael Ampah Yeboah and Boakye Nyamekye Isaac won the ultimate prize for the main category with Shekinah Alornyekor and Edinam Kakrada also from KNUST settling for awards from the novice category.
KNUST becomes first in West Africa to win ‘Pan African Universities Debate’ contest
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2018, won the 11th edition of the Pan African Universities Debate Championship (PAUDC) held in Dars es Salaam in Tanzania making, it was the first time the tournament has been won by an institution outside the Southern African region.
