There has been tight security especially at University hall and Unity hall as freshers report for hall registration.
Not only the University’s security personnel at work but that of Ghana Police Service and Ghana Army Service have so far been of help as the university seeks to peacefully admit females into its two male halls.
The hubbub on the security of students; female freshers in perspective has been on the rise as KNUST have successfully converted all of its traditional halls to mixed halls. Threats, Curses, demonstrations and other forms of cautions have been utilised by both alumni and students of both University hall and Unity hall but all to no avail.
There has been a strict supervision on students movements especially continuing students following the schools directive to hall Masters to oust all continuing students from the halls as the university prepares to receive its freshers today. Reports have it JCR Members of various traditional halls have not been of exception to this directive.
Places spotted to have had strict supervision so far are the forecourt of University Hall and Unity Hall, Main Entrance of the University, and the small entrance adjacent the University Hospital.
