The Dean of Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Williams Garibah has denied rumours trending on Social Media purported to be plans of the university authorities to introduce prescribed uniforms for lectures.
In an interview with Robert Kumi Adu-Gyamfi of successafrica.info , Professor Garibah indicated that it is false information and should be disregarded by students and the general public. “I don’t understand the reason university students can lie like that and that is what hurt me”, he emphasised after clearing the air on the fake news.
Professor Garibah said procuring prescribed uniforms for students wouldn’t have been a difficult task, they would have done that long ago, however, it has never crossed the minds of authorities to implement that.
Professor Garibah went ahead to deny the false information circulating on social media that the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Obiri Danso assaulted a student purported to be an inmate of the University hall, Katanga when the school was for the first time preparing grounds to admit fresh female students into its two giant halls; University hall and Unity hall.
Professor Garibah advised students to only regard news coming from the appropriate quarters because some are meant to cause fear and panic by the media.
