WAEC Releases BECE Results For 2018

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

In a statement signed by Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, the Deputy Director, Public Affairs. Students can now access their results online.

Statistics

A total 509,827 candidates made up of 263,291 males and 246,538 females SST for the examination. This is 8.92% higher than that of the previous year.

Malpractices.

One hundred and thirty four(134) candidates have had their subject results cancelled for entering the examination hall with foreign materials.

Eighty three(83) candidates have had their entire results cancelled for bringing mobiles phones into the examination hall to receive external assistance.

Withheld Cases.

The entire results of 2,061 candidates have been withheld pending investigations into alleged examination malpractices.

WAEC in the statement expresses its deepest gratitude to all stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, Supervisors, Invigilators, the Ghana Police Service .

Follow the Steps below to Check your results.

WAEC WASSCE Exam results have been successfully uploaded online, follow the below steps to check your result:

  1. Visit the WAEC May/June Result Checker Online Portal via the link below;
    http://ghana.waecdirect.org
  2. Enter your Index Number.
  3. Select the Type of Examination (e.g.  WASSCE).
  4. Select your Examination Year eg. 2018.
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  6. Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card eg. 012345678912.
  7. Confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to ensure that your examination information is correct.
  8. Click on Submit and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several minutes.
