EPL Golden Boot: Salah, Mane and Aubameyang Share Award

0

The 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot has not one, not two, but three winners this season as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all finished on 22 goals.

Liverpool star Salah moved out on this own with 22 goals after his latest strike against Newcastle, but the Egyptian failed to score on the final day of the season – and that allowed his rivals to take advantage.

Sadio Mane hit a brace against Wolves to move level with his Anfield team-mate, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also scored twice as Arsenal beat Burnley 3-1 to join the Liverpool pair.

As the Premier League Golden Boot award is only dependent on goals – with other factors such as assists or goals-per-minute playing no role in the event of a tie – all three players will now share the award.

Man City striker Sergio Aguero sits one behind the trio, but the Argentine will simply have to console himself with a Premier League winners’ medal.

As for those below 20 goals, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has mounted a late charge with 18 to his name, while Man City’s Raheem Sterling is on 17 – along with Harry Kane.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard on 16, and Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson on 14. Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette and Paul Pogba have both netted 13, along with Everton duo Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison, Wolves’ Raul Jimenez, Brighton’s Glenn Murray and Crystal Palace’s Luka Milivojevic.

Romelu Lukaku, Roberto Firmino, Ayoze Perez and Heung-min Son all sit on 12 – one ahead of Joshua King, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ashley Barnes.
