Several students who trooped to the Northern Business School in Tamale in the Northern Region to register for the SHS double track system have been turned away by authorities of the school.

According to Starr FM’s Northern regional correspondent, Eliasu Tanko, the students being turned away are those who did self-placement.

Authorities at the school are also complaining that they have been given more students than they can admit.

A parent who spoke to Starr News said he was told to go and complete the process on the internet before his son can be admitted into the school. Some other students who spoke to Starr News were worried that their children may not gain admission.

423,134 students who have successfully made it under the 2018 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) have been placed in various secondary schools.

Over 400,000 students are expected to begin the double track system introduced by government.

The system, which begins this September will see one sect of students in school whiles others are on vacation. The students have been put on green and gold tracks with the students on green expected to start school this month while those on gold tracks resume school in November.

Reports across the country indicates that most students who are on the green track have been able to register successfully and are likely to start school by end of this week.
