Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ SHS and St. Louis SHS have qualified to the next stage of the Luv Fm/ARSRC Debate Competition after beating Kumasi Girls’ SHS and Akrofuom SHS respectively.
The first contest saw Yaa Asantewaa SHS battling it out with Kumasi Girls SHS. The two schools spoke on the motion “the government is to be blamed for the collapse of banks in Ghana”. An opening contest which saw Kumasi Girls SHS speaking in favour of the motion and Yaa Asantewaa SHS speaking against the motion.
At the end of the contest, Yaa Asantewaa SHS proved too strong to be “hammered” by Kumasi Girls SHS after beating them with 210 points to 197 points, a 13 points margin to qualify to the quarter finals.
In another very exciting contest, St. Louis SHS managed to beat the reigning regional champions, Akrofuom SHS with 228 points to 202 points.
Kumasi Girls’ SHS Debaters Presented with prices from SponsorsKumasi Girls SHS and Akrofuom SHS after loosing their contest received brand new water dispensers, 100 exercise books, a big hamper, pens and other souvenirs . They will also benefit from the 2000 cedis worth of airtime.
