Frequently Asked Questions for Ghana School of Law 2020 Admissions

The Ghana School of Law (GSL) frequently asked questions (FAQ) for the 2020/2021 admissions has been released.

Following the release of the results of the Ghana School of Law (GSL) Entrance Examination result, the management of the institution has released some frequently asked questions to address the concerns of candidates.

Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions for Ghana School of Law 2020 Admissions

Q. HOW WILL THE SCHOOL COMMUNICATE WITH SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS DURING THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS?

A. The School will issue a series of notices which will be circulated via the notice boards of the three campuses and the School’s website.

Applicants are advised to check the School’s website daily for updates.

In due course, email addresses will be generated for Applicants and the password communicated to the phone numbers provided by Applicants on the Application Form.

Q. CAN SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS DEFER THEIR ADMISSION TO THE SCHOOL?

A. Admission to the School is granted for a specific year.

A successful Applicant who fails to enroll in the very year the admission is offered or withdraws from the Course forfeits his/her admission. A successful candidate CANNOT defer his/her Course.

Q. AFTER RELEASE OF THE RESULTS WHAT NEXT?

A. Applicants will be directed to a Portal to access and download a Provisional Offer of Admission Letter and Acceptance of Provisional Offer of Admission Form.

The Letter will communicate the deadline for the next step of the process

Q. HOW WILL CAMPUS PLACEMENT BE MANAGED?

A. Applicants will be directed to a Portal to choose their preferred Campus and Lecture Times. However, Management reserves the right to make changes for logistical purposes.

Q. WILL THE PROVISIONAL OFFER OF ADMISSION LETTER REQUIRE THAT I MAKE SOME PAYMENTS?

A. Yes. The amount will be communicated in the letter.

Q. AFTER SUBMISSION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROVISIONAL OFFER OF ADMISSION AND MAKING PAYMENT WHAT NEXT?

A. Admission Letters will be issued.

Notices on collection dates and times will be circulated

Q. WHAT IS THE SCHOOL FEES FOR 2020/2021 APPLICANTS?

A. This information will be provided in the Admission Letter

Q. WHAT IS AN “OUTSTANDING DOCUMENT” AS REFERRED TO IN THE NOTICE ISSUED ON MONDAY, 5TH OCTOBER 2020?

A. Any document advertised as required for applying to the Ghana School of Law in the Entrance Examination adverts circulated in the newspapers which an applicant failed to submit at that time is outstanding.

Additional documentation (Study Leave and Police Report) which could not be obtained before the release of the results.

Scenario 1: Some applicants were awaiting their final transcripts and certificates at the deadline for applications for the entrance examination and were unable to submit such documents.

Scenario 2: Some applicants were unable to reach their lecturers for academic references or their School Registries due to COVID-19.

Q. WHO IS AN “AWAITING STUDENT”?

A. Applicants who as at the deadline for applications were yet to write their final LLB Exams due to COVID-19.

Q. I AM AN “AWAITING STUDENT” AND UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTS BY THE DEADLINE. WHAT DO I DO?

A. If the documents outstanding are Certificates and Final Transcripts for “awaiting students”, your Institution will have to notify the school office for consideration.

Q. WHERE SHOULD OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTS BE SUBMITTED BEFORE THE DEADLINE?

A. Outstanding documents should be submitted to admissions2020@gslaw.edu.gh

No hard copies are to be submitted until specifically requested.

Q. WHAT IF I AM UNABLE TO SUBMIT THE OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTS BY THE DEADLINE?

A. You can take advantage of the opportunity to submit the Acceptance of Provisional Offer of Admission Form and payment to any campus of the School, to submit the outstanding documents in an envelope inscribed with your name.

Q. THE NATIONAL ID I SUBMITTED DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS HAS EXPIRED. WHAT DO I DO?

A. You can submit a photocopy of the new ID when submitting your Acceptance of Provisional Offer of Admission Form to the School.

Please note all hard copy documents must be enveloped and labeled with your name and submitted only when requested to submit the same.

Q. WHEN WILL LECTURES COMMENCE?

A. This information will be captured in the Academic Calendar which will be released soon.
