A form two boarding student of Damongo Senior High School in the Northern Region has been rushed home after allegedly attempting to terminate a barely six months pregnancy while in school.
Friends of the students had secretary transported her in a hired tricycle to a hospital after she had complained of stomach cramps or pains.
Authorities of the school were later informed by doctors at the Damongo hospital.
Report have it that, midday into the journey, the student started to struggle with pains and later delivered a stillborn fetus which brought about the complication.
Doctors at the hospital failed to admit the student for treatment until school authorities agreed for her to be treated after her friends who took her to the hospital had agreed for authorities of the hospital to disclose the incident to school management.
The parents of the student have been informed of the matter and she has been taken home for further treatment.
After a disciplinary committee meeting, it is agreed that the student will face a punishment upon her arrival back to school.
In the past few months, Damongo SHS has suffered bitterly grabbing negative headlines. Some students who engaged in immoral act were suspended.
About barely two months ago, the headmaster of the school seized and burnt over 300 mobile phones belonging to students after an overnight storm to their dormitories.
