Video: “We Sacrifice One Female To You Yearly” : Aggrieved Katanga Students Invoke Curses As They Pray to gods.

Story by Robert Kumi Adu-Gyamfi

The tango between the authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and its university hall-Katanga and Unity hall-Conti over its decision to convert the two male halls to mixed halls will soon never end.

Following the decision by the school’s authorities, most students including alumni of the two halls have registered their displeasure over the decision.[irp posts=”1558″ name=”The United Front: Katanga, Conti, Commonwealth and Casford Shows The Way Forward”]

The university authorities however are not moved by the numerous attempts by students of both Conti and Katanga including a law suit granted by the Kumasi High Court to trigger a standstill of the decision.

About a two minutes video spotted by the news team of successafrica.info suggests that the inmates of the university hall have cursed any female who accepts an offer from the university to be a resident of the hall.

The group invoked curses using candles, pots, ladies panties and a slaughtered fowl.[irp posts=”1604″ name=”Conti-Katanga Mixed Hall Brouhaha; A shared Opinion of Wesley Ekuban”]

“We present to you all the items you(gods) demanded from us. Here are the panties of the females”- The leader of the group said.

The aggrieved students invoke curses on any female student who accepts admission into the hall and mentioned about five names of females purported to have agreed to an offer to be Katangees, from the university authorities.

The group continued to say that they offer one female yearly to the gods as a sacrifice if the university authorities still convert the two male halls to mixed halls.[irp posts=”1489″ name=”Katanga, Conti, Casford and Commonwealth hall Set to Hold First Meeting to Address practical ways to students activism and numerous clashes on Campuses.”]

The school authorities are still pushing to convert its two male halls to mixed halls despite the demonstrations and even an injunction granted by the Kumasi High Court to freeze the move.

It’s reason of the conversion still remains to increase female population in the school and give them the opportunity to also study courses in Science, Technology ,Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
