T.I Amass, Ksi beats Owass to win 2018 Milo Games

T. I. Amass, Kumasi are the champions of the Ashanti Regional inter schools soccer competition for 2018 after a 4:3 penalty victory over Opoku Ware School.

The match ended 1:1 in regulation time with OWASS taking the lead through a penalty early in the second half. T. I. Amass equalized deep in the second half after a sublime free kick was beautifully connected by an attacker of T. I. Amass in the eighteen yard box.

T. I. Amass has dominated athletics in both the boys and girls divisions and have been consistent in soccer as well making about 6 semi finals in nine years and four finals within the same years.

The highly patronized games saw many old students supporting their Alma mater in a very charged atmosphere with every blast of the referees whistle applauded or criticized.

The game looked scrappy in the early half of the game but settled with Owass dictating the pace of the game. However T. I. Amass came in strongly and controlled the game from the middle.
The sharp attack of OWASS was neutralized as supply was cut short to them.
In a typical move by Owass, an Amass defender shoved the player of in the penalty box with the referee judging it to be penalty. Owass beautifully converted and seemed to have been affected by the goal as they sat back to defend.
Amass mounted incessant pressure on OWASS who resorted to undue delay tactics and theatrics
Amass capitalized on a free kick around the center half and it was beautifully headed inside the net.

Amass won 4:3 on penalties after OWASS wasted their 4th kick which was saved by the Amass goalie.

Amass Kumasi therefore wins the trophy for the second time in nine years.
This was OWASS closest attempt to win the trophy they last won in 1998 when they defeated Amass 2:1

Asanteman also defeated Islamic SHS in penalties after a barren game to place 3rd.
