The battle for supremacy between arguably the two best boys institutions in Ashanti Regional as the annual preparatory regional contests for the National Science and Maths Quiz ended yesterday with Prempeh College winning the competition in a competition hosted by Opoku Ware School.
As if the victory was not in enough the Amanfuo lads decided to celebrate their victory in front of the match publicized royal Akatakyie gate to send a strong message across to their bitterest rivals that beautiful gates don’t win trophies once again after their earlier success in the Regional athletics competition.
However, the Opoku Ware fraternity are not perturbed as they sent a strong reply calling the celebrants the Green Tourists at the beautiful Royal Gate. A blow which will once again will spark another debate as to whether the pride of a beautifully constructed Golden Royal Gate overrides the glory of academic or sporting trophies. The unending debate rages on but for now Prempeh College will go into the national contest with high hopes having silenced all the schools in the region.
