Academic Violence :Old Students Angry as
Some old boys of St Paul’s Senior High School (SPACO) in the Volta Region are still in absolute shock and complete denial of the recent quality of Students being admitted into the School.
The old students complained bitterly about the quality of grades being admitted to study the available courses in the School.
According to reports, the School admitted students who have aggregates between 20 to 49 to read General Arts, Business, Visual Arts and Science respectively.
Speaking with EducationGhana.net , the Old Students believed the quality of Students being admitted due to the introduction of the Free SHS Policy and its associated Double-Track System was worrying.
The Old boys lamented that the reason by the Ghana Education Service to allow all students have access to the Senior High Education without any competitive cut-off point will only produce SHS graduates with ’empty head carrying no jobs ‘.
The old boys believed the Free Senior High School policy was good but suggested, it should be well managed.
It has been observed that all over the country, the entry grades for all Senior High Schools has been opened to any pass mark aside a grade 9 In Mathematics et al.
Senor High Schools have Now being flooded with very bad results since every student was expected to access a free Senior High Education.
