The first of a series of courtesy calls outlined by the Local NUGS Executives of KNUST took place today at the Ministry of Business Development.
A delegation of executives led by Master Fred Parker (President- NUGS KNUST) in a meeting with Dr. Mohammed Awal (Minister of Business Development), disclosed that the purpose of this visit was to establish a closer working relation with the Government and the ministry as a whole, in ensuring that Students of KNUST play their role in National Development and Vice Versa.
In his submission, the Local NUGS President disclosed that, there have been several efforts by students in creating great business ideas and initiatives (ie:Tekpreneurship Challenge), which hardly survive due to the lack of the right nurturing and resources. He took the opportunity to introduce some entrepreneurial challenge initiatives on campus to the Minister and solicited for the support of the ministry in the initiative.
The Minister took the opportunity to express the preparedness of the Government in growing youth entrepreneurship as an alternative to economic development.
He expressed his pleasure in the efforts made by the student executives of NUGS-KNUST in visiting his office and encouraged that students take opportunity of his open doors to develop themselves and to take bold steps into entrepreneurship, as means to financial freedom.
