Milo Games 2019: Kumasi High School Beat OKESS To Secure Ticket to Finals

Kumasi High School today showed supremacy as they clashed with the 16 times Champions of the Inter Schools and Colleges Boys Soccer Competition, Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS).

As expected, the game was very tough but both sides controlled the game in the first half as it ended with no goal.

However Kuhis in the 40th Minute put one past OKESS to secure their ticket to the finals of the competition after an incredible dribble by ‘Nani’ of Kuhis.

OKESS failed to respond after several chances. OKESS will meet KSTS who were defeated by Adu Gyamfi by a goal to nil for the 3rd And 4th Place.

SOME IMPORTANT FACTS

Okess last won it in 2008 but are 16 times champions. They have won it more than any other school.

Kumasi High School last won it in 1997 but have been in the finals twice for the last NINE editions (2010 and 2014).

KSTS last semi finals came in 2012 when they were been defeated by Adu Gyamfi shs in the Semi finals but they were able to place 3rd after beaten Nicholas Opoku’s Juaben SHS in the 3rd place play-off. They lost the semi finals to Adu Gyamfi at Baba Yara Sports Stadium whilst Konongo Odumasi also won their Semi Final game against Juaben SHS at WESCO TRAINING COLLEGE PARK.

Adu Gyamfi SHS are 5 times champions and wanted to win their 6th title to equal T.I Amass record.

Alidu’s goal against Mpasatia Sec/Tech during their play-off encounter can not be counted as a goal in the tournament proper. So he now scored his first goal of the tournament.

Williams Owusu plays for Ofori Academy, a team owned by Ghanaian footballer, Ebenezer Ofori. Williams won the best player of the 2nd edition of the BabyJet U-16 tournament.

Kumasi based Ofori Academy were the champions of the 2019 edition of the Baby Jet U-16 tournament after beating Kasoa-based Cheetah FC 3-2 in the final at the Accra Academy Sports Complex.
