The following is the information and guide for Ghana Armed Forces Recruitment 2022. This is to help all eligible Ghanaians who want to join the Ghana Armed Forces to apply to be considered.

All applicants are required to carefully read through the entry requirements for clarification before application. Take note of all required data in the subsequent steps.

Ghana Armed Forces Recruitment

  1. To join the Ghana Armed Forces as a RECRUIT or CADET acquire a scratch card at TWO HUNDRED GHANA CEDIS (GH₵200.00) through USSD CODE *447*160# or from selected post offices nationwide.
  2. Scratch gently to reveal the “PIN” code. The scratch card can be used three times until a record is successfully submitted.
  3. Log on to the recruitment portal @ https://www.gafrecruitment.mil.gh with any of the following browsers:
    • Google Chrome.
    • Mozilla Firefox.
  4. Read through the entry requirements thoroughly.
  5. Ensure your mobile phone’s Cell Broadcast Message Service is turned “ON”. This can be done by going through the following steps on your phone:
    • Messages
    • Message Settings
    • Find “Cell Broadcast/Broadcast Message/CB Activation/Advertisement” depending on your brand of mobile phone.
    • Set activation “ON”.
    • Set all channels to “RECEIVE” and exit message settings.
  6. Then, click on the Apply Now Tab to open the applicant authentication page.
  7. Enter your card Serial NumberPIN code and select your preferred Arm of Service, type of commission, and click Next”.
  8. Enter your personal details and take note of the following from Pages 1 to 3:
    • Page 1; Select your desired vacancy and provide all other required data.
    • Page 2; Upload a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph of dimension (170 x 150 pixels), enter a valid e-mail address, personal mobile phone number in the format (233244123456), and enter any other required data.
    • Page 3; Enter the results of your WASSCE/SSSCE Certificate, that is; CORE MATHEMATICS AND CORE ENGLISH and the other Subjects. Enter your WASSCE or SSSCE Index numberWASSCE, or SSSCE Certificate Serial Number. Upload only scanned copies of the following; WASSCE or SSSCE Certificate and Degree Certificate.  NB:  Each scanned document (Passport picture, WASSCE or SSSCE Certificate, Degree Certificate) to be uploaded, should not exceed1(One) Megabyte and should be in JPEG picture format only.
  9. Click on the Preview button to see a summary page of all data provided. Read through this page carefully and click on the back button, if there are any modifications to be made.
  10. Click on the submit button and expect an instant e-mail and text message, which includes your unique system generated Identification Number.
  11. Print and keep a copy of the generated report as you will be required to present it if you are Qualified. However, if you lose your copy of the final report, go back to the recruitment portal, click on the PRINT SUMMARY Tab, enter your unique identification number sent to you by SMS/E-mail and order a reprint.

General Eligibility For Officer Cadet

Eligible applicant should:

  1. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
  2. Be of good character.
  3. Not be less than 18 years and not more than 26 years as at the time of the application for Regular Commission and respective Short Service Commission applicants.
  4. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standard.
  5. Be not bonded.
  6. Be not married (for Regular Officer Candidates only).
  7. Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6’’) for males and 1.60m (5’ 4”) for females.

For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (5’9”) and 1.70m (5’ 7”) for females.

Must have the following:

BECE.  Must have Six (6) Passes including English and Mathematics.

WASSCE.  Must have Six (6) Credits (Not less than C6) including Core English and Core Mathematics.

                                                                        Or

  • SSSCE.  Must have Six (6) Credits (Not less than D) including Core Englishand Mathematics.

                                    Or

  •  GCE ‘O’ Level.  Must have Five (5) Credits (Not less than 6) including English and Mathematics.

                                   And

  •  GCE ‘A’ Level.  Must have Credits in all Three (3) subjects (Not less than D) and General Paper

DEGREE.  Must have First Degree (Not below) Second Class Lower from a recognised University

The Recruitment Phases- Officer Cadets

All shortlisted applicants will proceed through the following phases:

  1. Documentation Phase. Qualified applicants will be invited to come along with their original documents for documentation
  2. Body Selection Phase. Applicants will be physically examined to order to ensure their physical look conforms to the Armed Forces Standards
  3. Aptitude Test Phase. Examination will be conducted for all applicants to know their level of basic logical reasoning capabilities
  4. Outdoor Leaderless Test Phase. Military problems will be given to applicants in syndicate-lots to solve
  5. Medical Examination Phase. Intensive medical examination will be conducted at the 37 Military Hospital for all applicants who have qualified up to this stage
  6. Vetting Phase.
  7. Interview Phase.
  8. Admission to the Training Center.

Eligibility Requirements For Special Medical Intake

Eligible applicant should:

  1. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
  2. Be of good character.
  3. Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years for Medical Specialists, 35 years for Medical/Dental Officers, 33 years for Nurses and 30 years for Paramedical personnel by 10 January 2019, or as otherwise specified.
  4. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces Standard.
  5. Be not bonded.
  6. Be of minimum height of 1.68m (5` 6“) for males and 1.57m (5` 2“) for females.
  7. Must have the following:

(1)       BECE. Must have six (6) Passes at BECE including English and Mathematics.

(2)       Six credits(Not less than C6including Core EnglishCore Mathematics and Core Scienceat WASSCE.

                                    Or

(3)Six credits(Not less than Dincluding Core EnglishCore Mathematics and Core Science at SSSCE.

                                    Or

(4)       Five credits. (Not less than 6including EnglishMathematics and Science at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level.

General Eligibility For Recruits

Eligible applicant must:

a. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.

b. Be of good character.

c. Be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years for Non – Tradesmen and not more than 27 years for Tradesmen by 30 December 2022.

d. Be medically fit by Armed Forces standards.

e. Be not married.

f. Be not bonded.

g. Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6”) for males and 1.57m (5’2”) for females. For Military Police only; be of a minimum height of 1.75m (5’9”) for males and 1.70m (5’7”) for females.

h. Have six (6) Credits (not less than Grade 6)at BECE including English and Mathematics.

i. Have six passes (Not below Grade D7 for Army Candidates in English and Mathematics and other 4 passes and Grade C6 for Navy and Airforce in all subjects) or the requisite credits/passes in respective trade qualifications from GES at Intermediate or Advance Level.

Regular Commission Requirements

ARMY

Infantry/Armour/Artillery/Military Police.  In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University.

Signal Corps.    In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University in any of the following:

(1)       Telecommunication Engineering.

(2)       Computer Engineering.

(3)       Electronics Engineering.

(4)       Physics.

(5)       Mathematics.

Engineer Corps   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University in any of the following:

(1)       Civil Engineering (Structural or Water/Sanitation Engineer).

(2)       Electrical Engineering.

(3)       Mechanical Engineer with Building Service Option.

(4)       Building Technology.

(5)       Construction Management.

(6)       Geomatic Engineer.

(7)       Geological Engineer.

Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME Corps).   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Physics.

(2)       Mechanical Engineering.

(3)       BTech(Automobile).

(4)       Electrical Engineering.

(5)       Electronics Engineering.

(6)       Materiel Engineering.

(7)       Chemistry.

(8)       Agricultural Engineering.

(9)       Mathematics.

Ordnance Service.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Chemistry/Biochemistry.

(2)       Logistics and Sup Chain Mgt.

(3)       Procurement and Sup Chain Mgt.

(4)       Economics.

(5)       Publishing.

Supply and Transport Corps.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

(1)       logistics and Supply Chain Management.

(2)       Administration.

(3)       Port and Shipping Administration.

(4)       Management Studies/ Commerce.

(5)       Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

(6)       Economics.

Forces Pay Corps.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree in Accounting, not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution.

Information Technology.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Computer Science.

(2)       Computer Engineering.

(3)       Information Technology.

(4)       Computer Security.

(5)       Network Engineering.

Education Corps.  In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in:

(1)       Education.

(2)       Librarianship.

Public Relations. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree (BA, BFA, BSc, etc.) not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution:

(1)       Communication.

(2)       Public Relations.

(3)       Fine Arts(NAFTI).

(4)       Journalism.

Physical Training (PT) and Sports.  In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Physical Education from a recognized University/Institution.

Band.

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a first Degree, not below Second Class Lower in Music from a recognized University/Institution.

Records. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution:

(1)       Actuarial Science.

(2)       Administration.

(3)       Statistics.

(4)       Management Information Studies.

NAVY

Executive BranchIn addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution:

(1)       Nautical Science.

(2)       Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Statistics.

(3)       Computer Science.

(4)       Oceanography or Geomatic Engineering.

Technical BranchIn addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution:

(1)     Marine Engineering.

(2)     Mechanical Engineering.

(3)     Electrical Engineering.

(4)     Marine Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Supply and Secretarial BranchIn addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University or equivalent Professional Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Administration (HR/Accounting/Marketing/Banking & Fin).

(2)       Logistics and Sup Chain Mgt.

(3)       Port and Shipment Administration.

(4)       Management Studies.

(5)       Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

(6)       Economics.

(7)       Preference will be given to applicants with additional certificates in the following;

(a)       Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administration (ICSA) – Final Part.

(b)       Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) – Level 5.

(c)       Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) – Final Part.

AIR FORCE

Pilots/ ATC Operations. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Statistics, Computer Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Private/Commercial/Air Transport Pilot License, or any other Pilot cert from a recognized University/Institution.

Supply Branch. In addition to the general eligibility applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University or equivalent professional institution in the following:

(1)       Finance and Accounting.

(2)       Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

(3)       Marketing and Procurement.

Administration Branch. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University or equivalent professional institution in any of the following:

(1)       Administration. (HR/Public Administration.

(2)       Arts or Social Science.

(3)       Management Studies.

Engineering Branch.

(1)       Mechanical.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree, not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University in the following:

(a)       Aerospace Engineering.

(b)       Mechanical Engineering.

(c)       Aeronautical Engineering.

(d)       Agricultural Engineering.

(2)       Avionics.    In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University in the following:

(a)       Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

(b)       Computer Engineering.

Short Service Requirments

(ARMY/NAVY/AIR FORCE)

Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME Corps).   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2019 and must have a First Degree and Masters Degree/Post Graduate Diploma from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Agricultural Engineering.

(2)       Material Engineering.

(3)       Technology (Automobile).

(4)       Electrical Engineering.

(5)       Electronics Engineering.

(6)       Mechanical Engineering.

Legal.   In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2019 and must have a First Degree from a recognized University or Professional Institution in any of the following:

(1)       Bachelor of Law, LLB.

(2)       Barrister at Law(BL) Certificate.

(3)       Must have done Pupilage and 3 years Post Call working experience.

MEDICAL. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have any of the following from a recognized University or equivalent Professional Institution:

  1. Medical Specialist. In addition to the general eligibility, applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution plus a relevant post-graduate qualification to the level of Membership/Fellowship (GCPS/WACS/WACP or its equivalent from an accredited College. Dental Specialist from the following categories: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, periodentist, Dental Restorative Specialist, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist, Oral Medicine Specialist, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist, and Prothodentist are eligible. Specialist Anaesthetiologist are also encouraged to apply. All must have permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and not more than 40 years of age by 02 May 2019 and Fellows not more than 45 years of age by 02 May 2019.
  2. Medical officer & Dental Surgeon.In addition to the general eligibility, applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Must have permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council. At least one (1) year working experience post permanet registration in a recognized health facility and not more than 35 years of age by 02 May 2019.
  3. Midwifery Officer.In addition to the general eligibility, applicant must have BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution. Must have completed the mandatory clinical rotation and have practiced for at least three (3) years post permanet registration. Applicants with Registered Midwifery (RM) certificate in addition to the BSc degree in Midwifery must have practiced for two (2) years working experience post permanet registration All applicants should not be more than 33 years of age by 02 May 2019. Must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
  4. Physician Assistant (Medical).   Applicant must have BSc degree in Physician Assistantship or its equivalent from an accredited institution with at least three (3) years working experience post permanet registration in an accredited health facility are eligible to Apply. Applicants with BSc degree in Physician Assistantship and Advance Diploma in Community Medicine and Health who hhave worked for at least two (2) years post permanet registration could apply. All must have permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and not more than 33 years of age by 02 May 2019.
  5. Audiologist. Applicant must have an MSc degree in Audiology or its equivalent. At least one (1) year working experience post permanet registration as an audiologist. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 33 years of age by 02 May 2019.
  6. Specialized Nurses. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must be a Registered General Nurse and have Certificate in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-operative, Emergency Care, Plastic & Burns, Paediatrics and Ophthalmic Nursing. At least two (2) years working experience post permanet registration in a recognized health facility is required. Must have registered with the Nurses and Midwives council of Ghana and not more than 33 years of age by 02 May 2019.
  7. Nursing Tutor. In addition to the general eligibility, applicant must have MPhil in Nursing/Midwifery or MSc/MA in Nursing/Midwifery with postgraduate certificate in Education. Must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana. At least one (1) year teaching experience post permanet registration in an accredited Nursing/Midwifery institution is required and not more than 35 years of age by 02 May 2019.

Chaplains (ARMY/NAVY/AIRFORCE). In addition to the general eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

  1. First Degree(BA) in Theology or Religion from a recognised University? Theological Seminary/College.
  2. An ordained minister of the Methodist, Presbyterian, Evangelical Presbytarian, SDA and the Church of Pentecost and be recommended for commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of the Church.
  3. A minimum of 4 years pastoral working and probation/internship experience including two(2) years post ordination service in the pastoral service.
  4. He/she must have the ability to speak English fluently and at least one of the main Ghanaian languages.
  5. He/she must not be more than 35 years by Thursday 02 May 2019.

Imam (ARMY/NAVY/AIRFORCE). In addition to the general eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

  1. First Degree in Islamic Theology or Religion from a recognised University? Theological Seminary/College.
  2. He must be an Alim Phedeen (Islamic Theologian).
  3. Fluent in spoken Arabic and English languages.
  4. Ability to read and write good Arabic and English languages.
  5. He must have practiced as an Imam for four (4) years, recognized by an Islamic Religious Institution/Body in Ghana.
  6. Must be recommended for commission into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of a recognized Islamic body in Ghana.
  7. Must not be more than 35years of age by Thursday 02 May 2019.

Special Medical Intake Requirements

In addition to the general eligibility, medical and para-medical applicant must have the following:

a.        Medical Specialist. Applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution plus a relevant post-graduate qualification to the level of Membership/Fellowship (GCPS/WACS/WACP) or its equivalent from an accredited College. Dental Specialists of the following categories: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Periodontist, Dental Restorative Specialist, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist, Oral Medicine Specialist, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist, and Prosthodontist are eligible. Must have a permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and not more than 40 years of age by 10 January 2019.

b.        Medical Officer & Dental Surgeon. Applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Must have a permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council. At least, one (1) year working experience in a recognized health facility and not more than 35 years.

c.        Veterinary Officer. Applicants must have Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or its equivalent from an accredited institution. At least, one (1) year working experience as a Veterinary Officer in an accredited health institution. Must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ghana and not more than 35 years.

d.        Clinical Psychologist. Applicants must have an Msc/MPil in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution plus one (1) year internship in Clinical practice with at least one year working experience in a recognized health facility. He/she must be fully registered with the Ghana Clinical Psychological Council (GPC) and must be 33 years.

e.        General Nurse. Applicants with BSc/BA degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher learning who have completed the mandatory clinical rotation or national service and practiced for at least three (3) years are eligible to apply. Applicants with BSc/BA degree in Nursing with RGN basic Diploma who have practiced for at least two (2) years are eligible. All must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana and not more than 33 years.

f.        Nursing Tutor. Applicant must have MPhil in Nursing/Midwifery or MSc/MA in Nursing/Midwifery with a postgraduate certificate in Education. Must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana. At least, one (1) year teaching experience in an accredited Nursing/Midwifery institution is required and not more than 35 years.

g.        Specialized Nurses. Applicants must be a Registered General Nurse and must have a certificate in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-operative, Emergency Care, Plastics & Burns, Paediatrics and Ophthalmic Nursing. At least two (2) years working experience in a recognized health facility is required. Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and not more than 33 years.

h.        Midwifery Officer. Applicants with BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution who have completed the mandatory clinical rotation and have practiced for at least Three (3) years are eligible to apply. Applicants with Registered Midwifery (RM) certificate plus additional BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution who have practiced for at least two (2) years could apply. All must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana and not more than 33 years.

i.        Biomedical Scientist.Applicant must have a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution. At least, two (2) years working experience as a Biomedical Scientist in a reputable medical laboratory facility is required. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 30 years.

j.        Pharmacist. Applicant must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (BPharm) from an accredited institution. At least, two (2) years working experience as a Pharmacist in an accredited health facility. Must be registered with the Pharmacy Council and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and not more than 33 years.

k.        Radiographer. Applicant must have a BSc degree in Radiology or its equivalent plus One (1) year post-qualification internship. At least, two (2) years working experience as a Radiographer in an accredited health facility is required. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 33 years.

l.        Physiotherapist.Applicant must have a BSc degree in Physiotherapy or its equivalent plus one (1) year mandatory internship or national service. At least, two (2) years working experience as a Physiotherapist in a recognized health facility. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 30 years.

m.        Health Services Administrator.Applicant must have a BSc degree in Administration (Health Services option) from an accredited institution and must have completed the mandatory national service. At least Two (2) years working experience as a Health Services Administrator in a recognized health facility. Must be registered with the Association of Health Services Administrators of Ghana (AHSAG) and not more than 30 years.

n.        Biomedical Engineer. Applicants must have a BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering with good knowledge in Information Technology and Computer Science and must have completed the mandatory national service and registered with the Allied Health Professions Council. At least, two (2) years working experience in an accredited health facility is required and not more than 30 years.

o.        Audiologist. Applicant must have an MSc degree in Audiology or its equivalent. At least one (1) year working experience as an audiologist. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 33 years.

p.        Public Health Officer. Applicants must have a BSc degree in Public Health (Environmental Health or Disease Control Option) from an accredited institution plus one year post-qualification internship. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council and not more than 33 years.

q.        Physician Assistant (Medical). Applicants must have BSc degree in Physician Assistantship or its equivalent from an accredited institution with at least one (1) year working experience in an accredited health facility. Must have a permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and not more than 33 years.

r.        Certified Registered Anaesthetists. Applicants must have BSc degree in Anaesthesia from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years working experience in an accredited health facility. Must have a permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and not more than 33 years.

Army Requirements

Army Candidates.

a. Infantry/Armour/Artillery/Military Police.            In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 passes at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.

b. Pay Corps. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(1)        Six Passes including English and Mathematics) at WASSCE with Accounting or Business options.

(2)        RSA Stage III in Accounting.

(3)        Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option).

c. Engineer Corps. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(1)        Electricians.

(5)   Cooks. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have the following qualification from a recognised Institution.

(a)        HND in Catering.

h. Public Relations Corps. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(1)   Information Assistants. Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in Journalism, Public Relations, English Language /Literature, Broadcasting, Communication Studies or Photo journalism.

(2) Photographers.  Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in general photography.

i. Ordnance Corps.

(1)  Storeman/Woman. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 passes at WASSCE and Diploma in Business Studies and HND in Purchasing and Supply.

(2)  Ammunition Technicians.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 passes at WASSCE including science subjects.

(3)  Tailors/Textiles & Cobblers/ Leather Works.           In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(4)        Radio Artificers and Mechanics.

(a)        6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) including English, Mathematics and Physics.

(b)        HND in Electronic Engineering.

(c)        City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or equivalent from recognised institutions in any of the following:

(i)         Advance or Intermediate in Radio, Television and Electronics Servicing.

(ii)        Electrical Engineering Technician Part II or III (Electronics Option).

(5)        Radio Technician. In addition to the General Eligibility, applicants must have Mathematics, Physics, Elective Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)        City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics.

(b)        City and Guilds Certificate in Telecommunications.

(6)        Line Technician. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics any of the following:

d. Physical Training Instructors.  In addition to General Eligibility   applicants must have the following:

(2)        Must be a skilled sportsman in at least two sports with proven participation at district or regional level in Ghana.

Airforce Requirements

a. Administration Branch.

(1)        Air Force Police.        In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.

(2)        General Duties Clerk. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)        6 credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics;

(2)        Cobblers/ Leather Works & Tailor. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have:

c. Engineering Branch.

(1)        Airframe, Engines, Radio, Electronic, Instruments, Photo and Armament Trades.             In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)        6 credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE (Science or Technical Option) including English and Mathematics

(b)        City and Guilds Part I /II or GES Intermediate/Final Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Plant/Automotive Engineering/Electrical Technician/Electrical Installation/ Electronic Technician.

(2)        Plumbers/Masons/Welders/Machinist/Carpenters/Refrigeration. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have GES or City and Guilds Intermediate Certificate in the related field.

(3)        Safety and Surface.   In addition to the General Eligibility, all applicants must have 6 credits at WASSCE including English, Mathematics, and credit in Graphics and Design or Fine Art.

(4)       Vehicle Mechanic.  In addition to the General Eligibility all applicants must have City and Guilds Intermediate or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate in Auto Mechanics/Auto Electrician plus a Professional Driver’s Licence of minimum class C.

d. Air Branch.

(1) Air Traffic Controller/Operations Clerks. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE including English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.

(2)        Aero Firemen.           In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE, including Mathematics and English plus a driving licence class D.

Medical Corp and Band Requirements

Medical Candidates (Army/Navy/Air Force)

a. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and Mathematics (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE.

b. Must have any of the following from an accredited institution of higher learning with at least one (1) year working experience in a recognized health facility:

(1)        General Nurses. Diploma in Nursing (Registered General Nursing/Registered Mental Nursing/Registered Community Nursing/Emergency Nursing) and must have completed the mandatory rotation.  Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.

(2)        Nurse Assistants.  Certificate in Nursing (Community Health/Health Assistant Clinical) and must have completed the mandatory rotation. Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.

(3)        Midwives.         Diploma in Midwifery (Registered Midwifery) and must have completed the mandatory rotation.  Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.

(4)        Pharmacy Technicians.          HND in Dispensing Technology  must have completed the mandatory national service.  Must be a registered member and be in good standing with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.

(5)        Technical Officers (Dental Surgery Assistant).  Diploma in Dental Surgery option and must have completed the mandatory national service.

(6)        Technical Officers (Dental Technology). Diploma in Dental Technology option and must have completed the mandatory national service.

(7)        Technical Officers (X’Ray). Diploma in Radiology Technology and must have completed the mandatory national service.  Must be a registered member and in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(8)        Technical Officers (Nutrition).  Diploma in Public Health (Nutrition) or Food Health & Nutrition and must have completed the mandatory national service.

(9)        Technical Officers (Health Promotion).  Diploma in Public Health (Health Promotion) and must have completed the mandatory national service.

(10)       Technical Officers (Disease Control & Surveillance).  Diploma in Public Health (Disease Control) plus one (1) year mandatory national service. Must be registered and be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(11)       Technical Officers (Medical Laboratory).  Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology plus one (1) year mandatory national service. Must be registered and be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(12)      Technical Officers (Physiotherapy).   Diploma in Physiotherapy plus one (1) year mandatory national service.  Must be registered and be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(13)      Technical Officers (Orthotics).  Diploma in Orthotics plus one (1) year mandatory national service.  Must be registered and be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(14)      Technical Officers (Health Information).  Diploma in Public Health (Informatics)  plus one (1) year mandatory national service.

(15)      Technical Officers (Biostatistics).  Diploma in Statistics plus one (1) year mandatory national service.

(16)      Technical Officers (Veterinary).  Diploma in Field Animal Health/Veterinary Laboratory Techniques plus one (1) year mandatory national service.

(20)      Human Resource/Administrative Assistants.   Diploma in Human Resource Management/ Administration/ Management Studies.

(28)      Medical Laboratory Assistants.  Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology plus one (1) year post qualification internship. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(29)      Environmental Health Assistants.   Certificate in Environmental Health Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council.

(30)      Biostatistics/Record Assistants.   Certificate in Health Records Management

(31)      Ambulance Drivers.   Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Basic with a drivers licence “B”.

Band Candidates (Army/Navy/Air Force)

a. Applicants must have 2 credits and 4 Passes at WASSCE.

b. Must not be more than 27 years for Regimental Band and not more than 28 years for Dance band respectively.

c. Must have the following;

(1)        Ability to sight-read musical notes.

(2)        Ability to play Woodwind or Brass instruments.

(3)        Proficiency in Basic Music (ABRSM) Theory Grade 4 will be an added advantage.

STEP 1
