Covid-19: Kumasi Central Market Closed Down Over Disregard For Social Distancing

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has closed down the Central Market following traders disregard for social distancing measure and the health protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A release by the KMA signed the Mayor, who’s the Chairman of the Metropolitan Security Council(METSEC) said the interim closure is to afford their leadership to form traders into groups so as to enable them trade in turns.

“The leadership of the traders are to meet to set the modalities for the rotation of the various groups, and inform the Metropolitan Security Council on same” the Press statement said.

Ghana’s total case count for COVID-19 has spiraled to 287 after 73 more cases were recorded.

The Ghana Health Service(GHS) stated that the cases were detected after measures for enhanced contact tracing and testing.
