USAG TO CONTINUE WITH THE USAG- SSNIT INFO SHOP

The past and Incumbent National Executive Officers of USAG on January18, 2019 paid a working visit to the Director General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Dr. John Ofori- Tenkorang. The entourage was led by the former president and the incumbent president, Albert Oppong Kessie and Kingsley Sarpong Akowuah respectively.

The immediate past President, Albert Kessie seized the opportunity to introduce the new set of leadership to the Director General and his members. USAG under the Kessie led administration partnered SSNIT to educate the university students on the importance of saving towards the future, and the crucial part SSNIT plays to ensure that. This came to light through the USAG- SSNIT INFO SHOP , which was organised on five different university campuses.

The Director General in his address congratulated the new set of USAG executives and cautioned the leaders to be focused and work diligently to serve the interest of the students. He also assured the leadership of it’s availability and commitment towards ensuring the wellbeing of the university students. Dr. Tenkorang again challenged the USAG NEO to be more creative and innovative in the discharge of it’s duties. He was quick to add that SSNIT is ever ready to support and partner USAG in it’s innovative programs to build the capacity of students.

The incumbent president, Kingsley Akowuah expressed it’s inestimable appreciation to the Director General for the tremendous efforts towards building a more stronger relationship between USAG and SSNIT. As leaders who believes in positive continuity, he reiterated that the USAG – SSNIT INFO SHOP would be continued in his tenure to ensure that, other students of member institutions could also benefit from this important and needful program.
He hastened to add that, the step is in line with the Secretariat’s agenda to engage state agencies in promoting tertiary education in Ghana.

The past and Incumbent executives expressed it’s gratitude to SSNIT with presentation of citations to the institution and it’s members who contributed to the success of the USAG-SSNIT INFO SHOP.
