KNUST Student,Abdul Haqq Develops An Advanced Transport SoftWare

    Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has seen several developments over the past few years in terms of technology from its own students ever since the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kwesi Obiri Danso made a declaration that “KNUST is going paperless”

    Students have been able to develop top notch technological gadgets to enhance our daily activities on campus and beyond. Recent of these technological advancements is the Digital Transporting System which runs on a multiplex code.

    At the KNUST SRC Orientation which was slated for today, a fourth year student Abdul Haqq Adam showcased an intellectual property developed by him and his team being a transport software to help reduce burden on student commuting to and fro Kumasi.

    He launched the software and credited the Vice Chancellor of the University for being the inspiration behind making KNUST a paperless society.

    He further explained that the transport software provide students with an interface where after logging on, they will select their means of transportation being airline or bus. It also give students the luxury of selecting their preferred seat on their medium and pay through a bank or any of the mobile money services.

    Wheels, Mr Haqq explained is a Ghanaian mobile application platform for transportation services built with students in mind. Wheels is yet to expand and establish itself in the other campuses across the country.
