Baring any last-minute decision by the respective management of the University of Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Journalism, persons who wish to study in any of the two institutions have this week left to submit their application.

For prospective University of Ghana undergraduate students, the deadline for submission of forms is Sunday, June 30, 2019.

The Ghana Institute of Journalism has also set Friday, 28th June 2019 as its deadline for the acceptance of application forms.

The two tertiary institutions both opened for admissions for the 2019/2020 academic year earlier this year.

Both institutions are accepting applications from persons who sat for the 2019 May/June West Africa Senior Certificate Examination.

It is estimated that the two Universities will jointly receive over 50,000 undergraduate applications – with the University of Ghana receiving a vast majority.

Last year, the University of Ghana received over 43,000 applications – a figure which is expected to go up this year.

The number of persons who could be offered admission into any of these institutions can not be predicted.

Both institutions, at the end of admissions last year, mentioned that limited infrastructure was a major setback.

Application cost

Ghana Institute of Journalism has pegged its admission application cost for the 2019/2020 academic year at GHC 250.00 for regular undergraduate applicants.

Release of admission list

There is no specific date set by the management of the two schools for the release of the list of successful applicants.

However, following recent trends, admission list for Ghana Institute of Journalism is likely to be released in July with University of Ghana’s list coming out in August.
