  1. MTech In Water And Environmental Engineering

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years. To be admitted into the M.Tech. Water and Environmental Engineering programme, applicants must:

  • Hold a BTech degree in either Civil or Chemical Engineering; or
  • Hold a BSc degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering; or
  • Hold first degree in a relevant engineering-related discipline; and
  • Additionally, have at least one (1) year industrial or work experience; and
  • Must attend and pass a selection interview if degree is a pass division; or
  • Hold HND in either Civil or Chemical Engineering with three (3) years industrial experience, must pass a selection interview, and successfully complete a six (6)-month top-up course before admission into the MTech Programme.
  1. MTech In Environmental Statistics

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years, and to gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a BTech or BSc Statistics degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Applicants must possess a BTech or BSc Environmental Statistics degree or equivalent qualification.
  • All applicants, except past graduates of Kumasi Technical University, must submit official transcripts of their academic records.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year post-qualification industrial experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with 1st Class and 2nd Class Honours. First Class BTech Environmental Statistics applicants may be admitted without the post-graduation industrial experience. Applicants with lower divisions will have to pass an interview before admitted into the programme.
  • Applicants with Statistics or Mathematics backgrounds would be required to take relevant Environmental Science courses as prerequisites.
  • Applicants with Environmental Science background would be required to take relevant Statistics courses as prerequisites.

III. MTech In Health Statistics

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years, and to gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a BTech or BSc Statistics degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Applicants must possess a BTech or BSc Health Statistics degree or equivalent qualification.
  • All applicants, except past graduates of Kumasi Technical University, must submit official transcripts of their academic records.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year post-qualification industrial experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with 1st Class and 2nd Class Honours. First Class BTech Environmental Statistics applicants may be admitted without the post-graduation industrial experience. Applicants with lower divisions will have to pass an interview before admission into the programme.
  • Applicants with other Statistics or Mathematics backgrounds would be required to take relevant Health Science courses as prerequisites.
  • Applicants with other Health Science backgrounds would be required to take relevant courses Statistics as prerequisites.
  1. MTech In Financial Statistics

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years, and to gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a
    • BTech or BSc Statistics
    • BTech or BSc Financial Statistics
    • BSc Economics
    • or an equivalent qualification
  • All applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year post-qualification industrial experience.
  • All applicants, except past graduates of Kumasi Technical University, must submit official transcripts of their academic records.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with 1st Class and 2nd Class Honours. First Class BTech Environmental Statistics applicants may be admitted without the post-graduation industrial experience. Applicants with lower divisions will have to pass an interview before admitted into the programme.
  • Applicants with other Statistics or Mathematics backgrounds would be required to take relevant Finance courses as prerequisites.
  1. MTech In Chemical Engineering

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years. To gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a BTech or B.Sc. Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year post-graduation or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with 1st Class and 2nd Class Honours. First Class BTech Chemical Engineering applicants would be admitted without the post-graduation industrial experience.
  • Applicants with a lower division will have to pass an interview before admission into the programme.
  • Applicants with other engineering and chemistry backgrounds would be required to take relevant chemical engineering courses as prerequisites

Basic Entry Requirements for Four (4) year Degree Programmes

  1. WASSCE /SSSCE/GBCE Candidates

Credit Passes (A1-C6 /A-D) in three (3) core subjects including English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) related elective subjects.

b. GCE ‘O’ Level Candidates

Five (5) credits including English Language, Mathematics and two (2) elective subjects.

c. Mature Candidates

  1. i) Must be 25 years old with legitimate documentary proof which is at least five (5) years old at the time of application.
  2. ii) Must have at least two (2) years work experience (A letter from employer is required)

iii) Must pass a written examination or show proof of two (2) credit passes in English language and Mathematics in SSSCE/WASSCE or any other nationally recognised standard high school level examinations.

  1. iv) A pass in any two (2) subjects at Senior High School, ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels, GBC, RSAII.
  2. HND Candidates
  3. i) Applicants with HND certificate will be admitted to level 300.
  4. Advanced Level and Professional Candidates
  5. Candidates with part of Professional Certificates with a minimum of Part 1 of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Chartered Institute of Taxation, Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, London Centre of Marketing, Institute of Commercial Management, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (Diploma or level 4) etc. may be considered for admission.
  6. Candidates with Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ and a pass in English, Mathematics and two business related subjects at the GCE ‘O’ level or Senior High School or GBC or RSAII etc may be considered for admission.

iii. RSAIII/ABC holders with passes in at least three (3) subjects may be considered for admission into level 100 or 200.

  1. DBS or other Non-Tertiary Diploma holders
  2. i) Candidates with passes in at least four (4) subjects may be considered for admission to level 100 or 200.

Basic Entry Requirments For Bachelor Of Technology (Top-Up ) Degree Programmes

  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Civil Engineering (2year Top-Up):

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE HND (FIRST CLASS OR SECOND CLASS UPPER DIVISION).

SECOND CLASS LOWER DIVISION HOLDERS WILL HAVE TO ATTEND AN INTERVIEW.

  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Chemical Engineering (11/2 Year Top-Up – Regular):
  2. Candidates must have HND (First class or second class upper division). Second Class lower division holders must pass a selection interview.
  3. Applicants with other Engineering and Chemistry backgrounds would be required to take relevant Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Courses as prerequisites.

III. Bachelor Of Technology In Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  1. Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates
    Holders of HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least second Class Lower Division.
  2. Electrical Engineering Technician Part III (EETIII)
    i. Must pass a bridging course for the duration of two (2 semesters.
    ii. Must possess EETI, EETII, and EETIII certification.
  3. Foreign Applicants with qualification considered to be equivalent to HND will be considered for direct entry while those with qualifications equivalent to EET III will go through the bridging programme.
  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Accounting With Computing
  2. Holders of HND Accountancy/Accounting with Computing Certificate. OR
    b. ACCA and ICA holders with passes in six (6) or more subjects. OR
    c. First Degree holders from other fields or discipline may apply.
  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Procurement And Supply Chain Management 
  2. Holders of HND Purchasing & Supply (2nd Class Lower or better) or its equivalent
    b. Applicants with Diploma in Procurement & Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS UK) qualification may apply.
    c. HND Graduates from other fields or disciplines with a qualification not less than a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division with at least five (5) years working experience in procurement related fields.
    d. First Degree Graduates from other fields or discipline may apply.
  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Building Technology
  2. A)Candidates Must Have Hnd (First Class Or Second Class Upper Division). Second Class Lower Division Holders Must Pass A Selection Interview.
  3. b) Holders of CTC II Final (old scheme) or CTC III Final (new scheme) with at least passes in all the four (4) major components. Also credit in English Language and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level or SSSCE/ WASSCE Level shall be required

VII. Bachelor Of Technology In Estate Management 

Candidates must have HND Estate Management (First class or second class upper division).

Second Class lower division holders must pass a selection interview.

VIII. Bachelor Of Technology In Entrepreneurship & Finance 

Candidates must have HND Entrepreneurship & Finance (First class or second class upper division) or

its equivalent. Second Class lower division holders must pass a selection interview.

  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Fashion Design And Modeling 
  2. Holders of HND Fashion Design and Textiles Studies (Second class lower or better) or its equivalent.
    b. HND Applicants with equivalent qualifications to HND Fashion Design from a recognised institution would be required to pass an interview.
  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Marketing 

Holders of HND Marketing (Second class lower or better) or its equivalent

  1. Bachelor of Technology in Health Statistics (2-year top-up)

XII. Bachelor Of Technology In Environmental Statistics (2-Year Top-Up)

XIII. Bachelor Of Technology In Financial Statistics (2-Year Top-Up)

Entry Requirements

  1. i) Candidates must have HND (First class or second class upper division) . Second Class lower division holders must pass a selection interview. OR
  2. ii) Other Diploma qualifications from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND may be similarly considered
  1. Bachelor Of Technology In Secretaryship And Mgt. Studies
  2. HND from a recognised institution with a minimum of second class.
  3. Professional Diploma from a recognised institution with a minimum of second class

iii. Diploma from a recognised institution with (first class and second class upper division).

xii. Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management and Catering Technology

  1. i) HND holders with a minimum of second class lower division.
  2. ii) Degree holders from Hospitality and Catering related programmes after being interviewed.

XIIIQualification Of Access In Building Technology 

Entry Requirements

  1. i) Candidates must pass at least three (3) of the four (4) major components including Construction Practice and Applied Technology and Site Experience at CTC III or CTC II final (old scheme) including passes in their corresponding project works.
  2. ii) HND Building Technology candidates: Second class lower or pass in HND Building Technology.

iii) Others: HND Estate Management, HND Civil Engineering, HND Interior Architecture and Furniture Production.

  1. Bachelor of Technology in Secretaryship and Mgt. Studies 

Entry Requirements
i) HND from a recognised institution with a minimum of second class.

  1.  ii) Professional Diploma from a recognised institution with a minimum of second class

iii) Diploma from a recognised institution with (first class and second class upper division).

Basic Entry Requirments For Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme

  1. WASSCE /SSSCE/GBCE Candidates
    Credit Passes (A1-D7 /A-D) in three (3) core subjects including English Language,

Core Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) related elective subjects.

  1. ABCE/ ‘O’&’A’ Level Applicants
    Five (5) ABCE credits or five (5) GCE Ordinary Level credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level/ ABCE passes.
  2. GBCE Applicants
    Five (5) GBCE credits including English, Business Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies.
  3. DBS Applicants
    Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE Credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least three DBS passes.
  4. Technical School Applicants (Certificate II)
    Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science plus any three (3) relevant trade courses.
  5. Mature Applicants
    Mature Candidates must:
    i. Be 25 years old and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date which is at least five (5) years old at the time of application.
    ii. Have at least two (2) years working experience (A letter from the employer is required).
    iii. Pass a written examinationconducted by the University.
    iv. Mature applicants applying for HND Dispensing Technology/Medical Laboratory Technology/Science and Industrial Laboratory Technologyshould have relative hospital/industrial experience with ‘O’ Level/WASSCE/SSSCE pure Science background (Chemistry and Biology) as well as credits in English and Mathematics (core) .

To be admitted into Higher Diploma in Health Statistics, a candidate must satisfy the minimum University and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics entry requirements.

Higher National Diploma Programmes (Top-Up)

Higher Diploma in Health Statistics (Regular/Evening)

Entry Requirement
Applicants must have two-year Diploma.

Mass Communication & Journalism

Entry Requirements

  1. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
    Applicants must have credit pass in two core subjects including English Language, Mathematics Integrated Science or Social Studies and credits
    passes in any two elective subjects. The total aggregate for the five subjects should not exceed 24 and 36 for SSSCE and WASSCE respectively.
  2. Mature Applicants
  • Must be at least 25 years.
  • Must have SSCCE/WASSCE passes in any for subjects including English Language.
  • Must pass a written examination and an interview.
  • Must have been in the media industry for at least two years.

Diploma in Hospitality Operations and Management (In Collaboration with Presbyterian Centre for Vocational Instructor’s Development – PRECEVID)

Entry Requirements

  1. SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE ‘O’ LevelApplicants

Passes in six (6) subjects including Core English Language and Mathematics.

  1. Mature Applicants

Must be at least 25 years with Senior High School Education and must pass an interview.

  1. Holders of Technical Examinations Unit Certificates
  2. i) Passes in Old Intermediate catering or NVTI Grade 1in Catering.
  3. ii)New Intermediate:Passes in four (4) subjects including Core English Language and Mathematics.

iii) Advanced Catering: Passes in all subjects would be admitted at level 200 of the programme.

One-year Diploma in Education (in collaboration with the University of Education, Winneba) – Weekend

Entry Requirements

Prospective applicants must possess one of the following qualifications.

  • Holders of a bachelor’s Degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Holders of a Higher National Diploma Certificate in any field.
  • Advanced certificate holders and other equivalent qualifications.
  • HND Level 200 and above students of Kumasi Technical University and other Technical Universities.
  1. One Year Top-Up Hnd Dispensing Technology Programme

A one year top-up Dispensing Technology programme leading to HND Dispensing Technology, technical courses or its equivalent.

Entry Requirements

  1. Dispensing Technician Certificate holders must have overall credit and also, credit in Chemistry, in Dispensing Technician Part III Examination of Technical Examination Unit. OR
  2. Must have passed the Access Course organised by the Department of Dispensing Technology, Kumasi Technical University.
  1. Professional Programmes (Only Weekends)
  2. Post Graduate Certificate in Computerized Accounting (PGCCA) Six (6) months

Entry Requirements

Diploma in Computerised Accounting, Electronic Marketing, Purchasing & Supply, Management Studies and Data Science.
