The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) mourned the loss of Mr. Owusu Prosper, a level 300 mathematics student who passed away on September 1st, 2023.
The death was a shock to the student community and sympathized by the 57th administration of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
The Projects and Programs Secretary, Ms. Bridget Bansah, who stood in on behalf of the president and the National Secretariat, donated a sum of money to the family of Owusu Prosper, as a sign of support and concern from the union.
The president, Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel, has called for calm in the society and urged the student community and the media at large to refrain from circulating false information regarding the death of Owusu Prosper until the investigations are complete.
According to the National President of the Ghanaian Students, his outfit has the mandate of the welfare of every Ghanaian student both home and abroad, and this gesture represents the Union’s commitment to that mandate.
Ms. Bansah said the secretariat and the student fraternity in Ghana have lost a great gem, and it will be difficult to replace such an energizing young man.
