The initial fixtures for this year’s Ashanti Regional Inter Schools football competition have been released as commencement of preparations for this year’s competition.
Some private school’s with good reputation according to the federation will be added to the various groups to complete the list of schools garnering for qualification in each group.
The first qualifiers will be played on the 12th of November at some selected venues pinpointed for the event.
There are 32 different qualification groups which will see the winner of each group progressing to the round of 32. This round will commence in the first 5week of December at the esteemed Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The federation faces real challenges in an attempt to tweak it’s rules and regulations in light of the recently implemented Double Track Education System where one of the tracks will be on recess during the tournament.
Some P. E tutors are very worried the use of unqualified players will be on the rise since there’s a tendency schools will use the excuse of the track on recess to field unqualified players.
The federation however seem very poised to prevent any discrepancies in the registration of players for the tournament. They5are looking at sealing all loopholes to prevent the participation of unqualified players in the tournament.
Defending Champions Adu Gyamfi SHS’ quest to defend their title will begin again St. Michael’s SHS and Denyasiman SHS
The Toronto boys from Kumasi High School will take on Ejuraman SHS and Agona SHTS
OKESS will welcome Atwima Kwanwoma SHS and Westphalian SHS.
The blue and white striped boys from Osei Tutu SHS, Akropong will battle Dompoase SHS, Nkenkansu SHS as well as Christ The King SHS for a spot at the Round of 32.
