The Executives of the Students’ Representative Council of the Premier University, University of Ghana is set to hand over its administration to the Interim Executives for the 2020/2021 academic year.
In a statement released by the Secretary of its outfit, Miss Denise Kagal Abaniaba on Friday, July 10, the ceremony is scheduled to take place at the SRC Union Building on July 12 at 6 pm.

The sitting executives of the SRC couldn’t organise elections and handing over ceremony for the 2020/2021 academic year due to the closure of the University hence resorted to the appointment of the interim SRC Executive to steer the affairs of the students front for the time being.
Article 25 of the SRC Constitution allows for appointments of Interim executives in times the council is unable to organise elections.
Article 25 clause 7 a, i, allows for an appointment of one of JCR Presidents to act as President of the council.
In light of that, the Executive Council appointed the JCR President of the Akuafo Hall, Nana Amo Ntow Fianko to act as the interim SRC President for the 2020/2021 academic year.
“Article 25 (7) (a). In the event of the removal from office en-block of the Executive Officers under this article, the remaining members of the Executive Committee shall nominate and/or appoint:
(I) One of the JCR Presidents of the Halls of residence as Acting SRC President;”
Pursuant to that, the Executive Committee on June 29, 2020 elected JCR President of the Akuafo Hall, Nana Amo Ntow Fianko as the interim SRC President for the 2020/2021 academic year.
