Cape Coast Technical University Releases 2022/2023 Admission Forms. Applicants are invited for application for the various DEGREE, TOP-UP HND, RPFOESIONAL DIPLOMA & DIPLOMA, CERTIFICATE programmes available for the 2022/2023 academic year.

(a) Non SSS Graduates
Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics. A pass in French/Geography will be an advantage.

Candidates must have four (4) passes in SSCE (A ? E)/ WASSCE (A1 ? E8) comprising English Language and Core Mathematics, and two (2) Electives. Background in basic Geography is an advantage.

RSA III/ ABEC/ GBCE
OR
Mature Applicants
Must be at least 25 years old and should provide a Birth Certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth.
Must have the requisite work experience of at least one (1) year

Academic Progression
Graduates of the Diploma would be admitted into the second year of the HND in Tourism Management or the B. Tech in Tourism and Hospitality Management of the Technical Universities on application.
Entry / Admission Requirements Of Students Into The 18 Months B. Tech In Tourism And Hospitality Management Programme
The entry requirements for the 18 months programme are the following:
HND Tourism, HND Hospitality or Tourism Management graduates, HND Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM) graduates, or other graduates of similar programmes run by other institutions with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower.
Demonstrate at least two years’ post qualification work experience
Foreign students with similar qualifications can also apply for admission for this top up degree programme.

Minimum Qualifications for Admission
Candidates for admission into the programme must fall under one of the following categories:
- Higher National Diploma Holders
Graduate of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretaryship and Management Studies with a minimum of Second (2nd) Class Lower Division. HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies with a pass shall be admitted after passing a qualifying entrance examination and an interview.
- Private Secretary Certificate Holders
An applicant with Private Secretaryship Certificate who has one (1) year work experience in Secretarial field shall be admitted after passing a qualifying examination.
- Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Level One (1) Holders
Applicants with level one (1) qualification from The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) qualifying examinations shall be admitted after passing an entrance examination and an interview.
- HND Graduates from other Related Fields of Discipline
Other HND graduates from other related fields of discipline with a minimum of Second (2nd) Class Lower Division and at least two (2) years’ work experience in Secretaryship/ management-related fields will be admitted based on interview performance.
- Other diploma certificates holders
Applicants with a six-semester diploma certificate in related fields (e.g. secretarial practice or management studies) shall be admitted after passing an entrance examination and an interview.
HND Secretaryship And Management Studies Entry Requirements For Admission Of Students:
SSSCE Holders
- Six (6) Passes (A –D) in all subject, including English and Mathematics; and
- At least three (3) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialisation.
The elective passes should be in any of the following programmes:
General Arts/Business/Science/Vocational/Agriculture.
WASSCE Holders
- Six (6) Passes (A1 – D7) in the core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) Elective subject in relevant area of specialization.

Candidates must have at least a Second Class Lower in either:

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Technology degree in Statistics, candidates must hold at least a good HND certificate in Statistics (Second Class Division or better) from a recognized institution with a one year relevant post qualification field experience.

SSSCE holders:
Credit Passes (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects. Relevant elective subjects including Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Economics and Geography.
WASSCE Holders:
Credit Passes (A1-C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects. Relevant elective subjects including Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Economics and Geography.
- GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants
Credit passes in Five (5) O’ Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, plus Passes in Three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) at A’ Level.
- Technical / Vocational Certificate Applicants
- Construction Technician Certificate Part I & II (CTC I & II) with passes in all subjects.
- Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD) Certificate in Renewable Energy, Electricals, Mechanical, Building and Civil Engineering with Pass in all subjects.
- Credit Passes in Intermediate or equivalent Certificate in Renewable Energy, Electricals, Mechanical, Building and Civil Engineering courses plus SSSCE (A-D) or WASSCE (A1-C6) or GCE Ordinary level (Credit) or CTVET (Credit) Certificates in three (3) core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
- CTVET Diploma Certificate in Renewable Energy, Electricals, Mechanical, Building and Civil Engineering courses with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division shall be admitted into the 2rd Year of the programme. Applicants with a “Pass” shall be admitted into the 1st Year of the programme.
- Professional And Other Entry Qualifications
All professional certificates and any other qualifications beyond the ones specified above must be referred to the National Accreditation Board for the establishment of their equivalences, to determine their eligibility for admission to tertiary education institutions-universities, university, colleges, polytechnics, etc.
- Mature Applicants
- Must be at least 25 years old and should provide a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth.

- Higher National Diploma (HND) Qualifications
For HND holders willing to be admitted to undergraduate programmes, the applicant must have graduated with a good HND certificate (i.e. at least 2nd Class Lower Division). Also, the applicant must have acquired a 2-year post HND qualification working experience Institutions under mentorship should follow their Mentor Institution Practice concerning entry levels for HND applicants.
Other Diploma qualification from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND may be similarly considered.

The selection of students for the course is within the discretion of the head of the institution and however recommended that applicants must satisfy one of the following:
- A pass or better in the intermediate dressmaking/fashion certificate examination.
- Passes in two cores and two electives West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or its equivalent.
- A pass in Certificate course of National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) or its equivalence in addition to pass in Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with one year working experience.
- A recognized equivalence in allied subjects and qualifications as stated in (a), (b), and (c).
- A pass in Certificate of Fashion Design and Technology run by the department.
BTECH , HND and Diploma in Marketing Studies
Bachelor Of Technology (B-Tech) In Marketing Studies – Eighteen (18) Months
- HND graduates in Marketing and studies transferring from similar/related programmes run at other accredited institutions with a minimum of SECOND (2RD) Class Lower Division plus at least one (1) year work experience.
- Applicants with Professional Diploma from CIM (UK/Ghana.)
- HND graduates with passes lower than the minimum 2nd Class Lower Division requirement indicated above but have worked in relevant fields for at least one (1) year may apply. Such applicants will be admitted based on interview performance
- HND graduates from other fields or disciplines with a qualification not lower than the minimum of Second (2rd) Class Lower Division requirement with at least one (1) year work experience in Marketing Studies or related fields.
HND Marketing Studies

- Credits Passes in five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level English Language and Mathematics

- SSSCE/WASSCE: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematic, Integrated Science and three (3) relevant elective subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Food and Nutrition , Agriculture Science and other related Agricultural disciplines.
- GCE: Passes in Two (2) subjects at GCE ‘A ‘Level in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science.
- Candidates Diploma in Food Science, Food and Postharvest Technology and Food Technology will be admitted at Level 200
- Mature Admission: Candidates should have secondary education, NVTI and must be at least 25 years old with at least Two (2) year relevant work experience. In addition, applicants must pass an organised entrance examination and interview by the department.

BTECH and HND Civil Engineering
Bachelor Of Technology (Btech) Civil Engineering (4-Year)
SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
SSSCE Holders:
Credit Passes (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects including either Elective Mathematics or Physics. Other relevant elective subjects are Chemistry, Biology, Building Construction, Woodwork, Plumbing, Carpentry, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Economics and Geography.
WASSCE Holders:
Credit Passes (A1-C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects including either Elective Mathematics or Physics. Other relevant elective subjects include Chemistry, Biology, Building Construction, Woodwork, Plumbing, Carpentry, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Economics and Geography.
GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants
Five (5) credits (at least Grade 6) at O’ Level including English Language Mathematics, and two (2) of the following: Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing and Building Construction, plus, Two (2) A’ Level passes in Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry.
Technical Certificate Applicants
- Certificate in Construction-related Course from Technical Institutes with Credit passes in all subjects, plus SSSCE (A-D) or WASSCE (A1-C6) or GCE Ordinary level (Credits) or CTVET (Credits) Certificates in three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
- Construction Technician Certificate Part I & II (CTC I & II) with Credit passes in all subjects, plus Credit passes in three (3) core subjects including English language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science from SSSCE (A-D) or WASSCE (A1-C6) or GCE Ordinary level (Credits) or CTVET (Credits).
- Construction Technician Certificate Part I, II & III (CTC I, II & III) with Credit passes in all subjects, plus at least three (3) years relevant experience may be admitted to Level 300 upon successful completion of a 6-month bridging course.
Mature Applicants
- Must be at least 25 years old and should provide a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth.
- Must show evidence of completion of Second Cycle education.
- Must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience and show proof with a recommendation letter from the employer
- Must pass a written examination and an interview.
Diploma Applicants
- HND Certificate in Civil Engineering with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) may be admitted to Level 300 of the programme. HND applicants with a “Pass” must pass a selection interview.
- HND in Building Technology, Construction Technology or Construction-related programme may be admitted to Level 300 upon successful completion of a 3-month bridging course.
- 2-year Diploma Certificate in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2nd Class (Lower Division) from any Accredited Institution may be admitted to Level 200 of the programme. However, applicants with deficiency in Level 100 courses will be required to register and successfully complete those courses. Applicants with a “Pass” may be admitted to Level 100 of the programme.
Teacher Applicants
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ level credits including English Language, Mathematics and two (2) Science Subjects or Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English language, Mathematics and two (2) elective science subjects.
International Students
International students with SSSCE/WASSCE certificate or its equivalent in relevant areas as defined under Sections 8.1.1, 8.1.2, 8.1.3 and 8.1.5 are eligible for admission.
Professional And Other Entry Qualifications
All professional certificates and any other qualifications beyond the ones specified above will be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commision for the establishment of their equivalences, to determine their eligibility for admission into the programme.

Bachelor Of Technology (Btech) Civil Engineering (Top-Up)
Applicants should possess any of the following qualifications:
- HND in Civil Engineering with a minimum of Second Class (Lower division). HND in Civil Engineering with “Pass” Division must pass a selection interview.
- HND in Building Technology, Construction Technology or Construction-related programme may be admitted upon successful completion of a 3-month bridging course.
- Construction Technician Certificate Part I, II & III (CTC I, II & III) with Credit passes in all subjects, plus at least three (3) years relevant experience may be admitted upon successful completion of a 6-month bridging course.
Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Non-SSSCE/WASSCE Graduates.
Applicants may qualify with any of the following groupings
- General Course in Construction (GCC), Construction Technician Certificate I & II (CTC I&II)Certificate II Applicants
- Craft certificate in Blocklaying and Concreting / Carpentry and Joinery / Plumbing plus passes in English Language Mathematics and Science in Access Course organized by NAPBTEX.
- Craft certificate in Blocklaying and Concreting / Carpentry and Joinery / Plumbing. Must have in addition a minimum of three SSSCE/WASSCE passes in core Mathematics, English and Integrated Science.
- Construction Technician Part II Certificate (New Scheme). Candidates must have in addition a minimum of for SSSCE/WASSCE passes including Core English, Mathematics and Physics or four GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English mathematics and Physics.
- Final Construction Technician Certificate (CTC I/CTC II). Candidates must have, in addition, GCE ‘O’ level passes in English, and Additional Mathematics or SSSCE/WASSCE passes in Core English and Elective Mathematics or GCC four(4) credits.
- OTD Certificate in Building/Civil Engineering
- CTC I and CTC II with passes in all subjects
Passes in six subjects comprising three core subjects (English, mathematics and Integrated Science) plus three passes in relevant elective subjects
- Two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering Drawing. If a pass in ‘A’ Level Chemistry is not obtained, credit in GCE ‘O’ Level Chemistry will be a prerequisite. Applicants with two ‘A’ Level passes with a minimum of grade ‘C’ in Mathematics and Physics may be considered.
AND
Five (5) credits at GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
(b) SSSCE Applicants:

- WASSCE Applicants
Three passes (A1-D7) in three core subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and a minimum of (C6) in any three relevant Elective Subjects like Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Woodwork, Engineering Science, Agricultural Science / Biology, Economics, Geography and other relevant subjects.
